Sculptra® – the treatment that activates your skin’s natural power to revitalize collagen production for a more youthful appearance. Sculptra is a unique aesthetic treatment due to its ability to stimulate collagen. Visit our Edmonton location to experience our collagen booster.
Collagen is a fibrous protein that helps maintain your skin’s shape and structure. The skin needs collagen to resist signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging.3-5 By age 40, most of us have lost up to 20% of our natural collagen.2
Sculptra helps stimulate natural collagen production.6 The poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) in Sculptra forms a framework that helps support and maintain the skin’s inner structure, which may lead to a more youthful-looking appearance.
Before we get started with any treatment, we will have a no-obligation consultation to pinpoint any issues and talk about your goals. This conversation will involve relevant medical and family history to ensure the treatment you are seeking is right for you.
We will then discuss your expected results and any associated risks with the procedure before moving forward
After cleaning the injection site with an antibacterial cleanser, we administer the dermal filler through a very fine needle or cannula. Most patients report experiencing minimal discomfort, but we will usually numb the area using topical or vibration anesthesia.
The entire treatment process depends on the number of areas you’d like treated. On average, a typical appointment is about an hour. After injecting Sculptra, we will take a few moments to massage the liquid into the treatment site and evaluate the result to ensure it meets your final expectations.
Sculptra is indicated for correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles. Sculptra is indicated for correction of fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region. Sculptra is intended for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy).
After the initial required treatment every 4-6 weeks apart, maintenance could be done once in 2 years. Hence it is a durable treatment option with your own natural collagen.
Most patients can return to their activities immediately.
